Recorded using Sharp IM-DR420H(S) minidisc and Sony mic LP2 mode -> via analog to a Philips CDR -> via EAC to wav -> via Flac Frontend to FLAC. That's the best equipment I have to do this. Sorry.

In February 2004, Keane had been tipped by the BBC as the band to watch in 2004. They weren't a secret to those with their ears to the ground in London town, with two singles released on Fierce Panda in 2003 (original versions of Everybody's Changing and This Is The Last Time). Somewhere Only We Know had started to get significant radio play by the time they did these two gigs. The first was opening a four-band show at the Astoria as part of NME's annual awards gigs. Keane opened at around 6.30 to a very sparse crowd. Later in the evening, they had arranged an intimate gig at a secret location through their messageboard. Tickets were printed with Somewhere Only You Know on them and the venue was only revealed on the day of the show. The show took place at the intimate Villiers Theatre underneath Charing Cross station.

These two shows were the first I recorded with my new minidisc recorder, which is still serving me well to the day. I lost this mic very drunkenly after a Magic Numbers gig in Liverpool in 2005. Amusingly I thought the first recording has messed up whilst listening to it in HMV between shows, called my expert mate, who had no idea why it sounded like I'd only recorded in one channel. Turned out my headphones weren't properly plugged into the player, the recording was fine.

I have some more Keane first and second album masters I'll seed soon.
