NOTES:

This was my second time seeing Andrew Bird (first being at Coachella in 2012 I believe - but I was so far back and somewhat distracted that I really don't count it)...anyway, I didn't go into this set with super high hopes (I was more hyped up for the Flaming Lips coming up after) but it's safe to say that Andrew Bird blew me away, and in retrospect, this might have been my favorite set of the entire weekend. There are a few negatives though, first being the crowd. This had to have been the rudest crowd for an act I've ever been part of. It was just a bunch of snoody wine drinking motherfuckers talking and talking and not giving Andrew Bird and his band the proper respect and attention they deserved. Second, my Dad (who I went to the festival with - his first in God knows how many years) found me a couple songs into the set and tried talking to me, but I had to politely hush and remind him that I had my recording gear up and running. He still tried to get in some comments and questions, but usually they were in between songs thankfully. On a more positive note, some of these songs were performed "old time style", meaning Andrew Bird and a couple other musicians all gathered around one microphone and played, for what looked like an impromptu jam session. While I'm not sure on others opinions on that format, I thought it definitely worked and made this awesome set just that more....well....awesome. Enjoy :)
