I am pleased to bring you a big material upgrade for U2's second of back to back nights at the Hammersmith Palais on the 1st leg of the 'War' Tour directly from the master tape.
This show has circulated for a long time from an unknown generation tape and though very good overall quality, the most common version has some issues.
The first of which is it runs very fast, the start of the show is cut and the stereo spectrum is on the narrow side coming from a higher generation copy.
This version corrects all those issues. The master also ran fast and has been pitch adjusted to run at the proper speed, the start is not cut and the stereo spectrum is wide open and natural sounding.
There are no close audience noises, claps or chatter. It's a big material upgrade and one of the best sounding 'War' tour audience recordings now in circulation. Samples provided with the fist sample coming from the circulating version comparison.
Steve Wickham guests on "Tomorrow" and "Sunday Bloody Sunday".
This is not my master tape and came from a friend that wishes to remain anonymous but is happy to share it with all. It only took 34 years and I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed working on it.
